The cup-hilt rapier is the first thing I started prototyping (and is the heart of why Fomp! exists) and has as such gone through many revisions. Due to a collapsible core, the rapier is safe for thrusting! A simple and relatively cheap way to get into rapier - all you need is a mask - or a nice way for clubs to hold intro classes.
