Finally - goal reached! Printing is underway and this prototype will go out to testers, barring any problems in printing and manufacturing. And to give myself some leeway - you can always find out that you still need some additional tweaking, how annoying that may be.

The good thing is that the only thing that would need some tweaking in that case would be a single part, due to how the redesign works! Keeping things as simple as possible is a rule to live by.

In any case, this is major progress and I’m close to getting into designing molds and casting the final product. There’ll by an additional step of prototyping to optimize casting, but that’s a relative minor thing in the grand scheme of things so I hope I’m not jinxing anything by calling this the final functional prototype. I’ve found out that it’s not just important to don’t promise too much - having the guts to say you’re done with something is necessary to not get into a bad habit of postponing things indefinitely.

Well, I’m extremely excited to do this and I’m looking forward to feeling the initial print out tomorrow morning!
